About

Hello, my name is Tyanna Chittenden

I was born and raised in Canada. I grew up pretty sheltered and lost my way more than once.

At the age of 14, I was diagnosed with depression, and every day since has been an unforgiving lesson. Depression runs in my family, my mom’s claims her’s was cured when I came along. As for me, I haven’t ever found a true “cure”.

When I was 18, I went on my first trip. That was thankfully sponsored by my father and grandparents. We got to see so much of Europe in 2 weeks that I was hooked.

At 19, after a trip to the emergency after a bad replase in my depression, my dad brought me to him. I spent one month in Qatar with my dad to soak up the sun and get my head on straight.

By the time I was 20, I was diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). This made me extremely terrified of meeting new people because I had a constant need to please everyone. I just wanted people to like me and want to be around me.

Though I suffer from those two mental disorders I don’t let them control my life too much. Any therapist is going to tell you to do what makes you happy. This is when my BPD comes in, I don’t know what my interests are. Everyone told me to trial and error, eventually, I would find something.

From my many attempts, I like travelling, my dog, my cat, and gardening. My mom helps with these passions by helping me care for my furchildren while I’m working to care for them, or helping me plant my garden, even though she definitely does not have a green thumb. Through it all, she was always there in the event that I fell.

I have yet to complete a formal post-secondary education. I have attended Carleton University for Journalism and Humanities because I knew I wanted to write, and I loved learning about new cultures. I couldn’t approach people and get in their business about their lives, I personally don’t like to pry like that. Then I thought travel and tourism, hey I could travel for free. As much as I loved the course at Fleming College, I couldn’t maintain focus while studying online.

I’m Travelling Tyanna, I love to travel. My best friend is a spoiled dog, and a cat that is convinced she’s a dog. Through it all, we all make each other extremely happy and find a way to tie everything I love into our lives.
